The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring agreed outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) deployments, upgrades, migrations, and associated infrastructure transformation programmes.
  • Manage project lifecycles from initiation, planning, execution, governance, and closure.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, RAID logs, governance documentation, and reporting packs.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams including infrastructure, networking, cloud, security, and third-party vendors.
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed within agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Facilitate project workshops, steering committees, technical reviews, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Track progress against milestones and proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations.
  • Ensure all project documentation is maintained and supports governance and reporting requirements.

VMware Cloud Foundation & Infrastructure Programmes

  • Deliver projects involving VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) implementations, upgrades, lifecycle management, and infrastructure refresh initiatives.
  • Work closely with architects, engineering teams, and operational stakeholders to coordinate technical delivery activities.
  • Support projects involving virtualisation, compute, storage, networking, cloud platforms, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Ensure dependencies across technical workstreams are identified and effectively managed.
  • Coordinate change windows, testing activities, migration plans, and transition-to-service activities.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, technical teams, suppliers, and senior stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact throughout project delivery.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and provide clear, consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain stakeholder engagement and communication plans.
  • Support project estimation, planning, and resource forecasting activities.
  • Manage project financial performance against agreed budgets and forecasts.
  • Track project costs, resource utilisation, and commercial commitments.
  • Ensure delivery aligns with contractual obligations and agreed Statements of Work.
  • Own and manage project change control processes.
  • Ensure scope changes, timeline impacts, and commercial implications are assessed and approved appropriately.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Escalate critical concerns and drive resolution to minimise delivery impact.

Leadership & Team Coordination

  • Lead virtual, matrix-managed, and cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing project environment.
  • Support knowledge sharing, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Encourage best practice adoption across project delivery teams.

  • Strong project management experience within enterprise IT environments.
  • Experience managing infrastructure, virtualisation, cloud, networking, and platform-related projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously.

How to prepare for a job interview at Eurobase People

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
