This full-time on-site position offers great opportunities for career growth. At KCT Care, we believe every child deserves a safe, stable, and nurturing place to call home. Based in Sandwich, Kent, we are a specialist two-bed residential children’s home supporting young people aged 8 to 16 with learning difficulties and dual diagnosis needs. We are looking for a warm, committed, and resilient Residential Support Worker to join our small, close-knit team — someone who genuinely wants to make a difference in the lives of the children we support.

About the Role

  • Working 12-24 hour shifts with sleep-in duties, you will be a consistent, trusted presence in the lives of our young people — supporting their daily routines, personal development, and emotional wellbeing in a home environment that feels exactly that: a home.
  • Providing a safe, warm, and nurturing environment for young people
  • Supporting individual care plans and daily routines
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with the children in your care
  • Promoting independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to reports
  • Working collaboratively with the Registered Manager and wider team
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child at all times

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year's experience working with children (essential)
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with complex needs
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare — preferred, or willingness to work towards it
  • A patient, resilient, and team-focused approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)
  • Right to work in the UK — we are unable to offer sponsorship at this time
