About Shabs Design: Shabs Design is a Manchester-based brand and product design studio working with UK and international clients across brand identity, web, and digital product design. We are growing our team to support an expanding client base and new projects in UK and international markets.

The Role: We are looking for a talented Graphic Designer with strong English and RTL design capability to join our studio. You will work across brand identity, digital, and product design projects, with a particular focus on Right-to-left (RTL) design work for Arabic-speaking markets. It is a varied role suited to a designer who enjoys both creative craft and the technical considerations of designing across languages and scripts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing brand identities, visual systems, and graphic assets across print, digital, and social media.
  • Producing bilingual (English, Arabic, Farsi, and Urdu) layouts, typographic compositions, and visual concepts.
  • Designing for right-to-left (RTL) reading direction, including Arabic/Farsi typography and layout considerations.
  • Creating digital design assets for websites, applications, and marketing collateral, including localized RTL versions.
  • Contributing to product UI, marketing, and brand work for our bespoke apps offering.
  • Preparing artwork for production to technical and brand standards.
  • Collaborating on design strategy, concept development, and client presentations.
  • Iterating on designs based on client and stakeholder feedback.
  • Maintaining design files, version control, and project documentation.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • A degree-level qualification in graphic design, visual communication, or a related discipline (RQF Level 6).
  • Familiarity or proficiency in written Arabic, Farsi or Urdu.
  • Demonstrable experience designing for RTL layouts and typography.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Figma.
  • A strong portfolio showing brand identity work, RTL design, and digital output.
  • Sound understanding of typography, colour theory, composition, and visual hierarchy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Strong working knowledge of AI and automation tools; comfortable using generative AI, AI-assisted design and prototyping tools, and workflow automation to enhance speed and output quality.
  • Experience with SaaS product UI design.
  • Familiarity with design systems and component-based workflows.
  • Experience designing for both UK and international markets.
  • Motion graphics and animation skills.
