Job Overview

Senior Engineer – De Construction Solutions (DE Group) – London, United Kingdom.

Full‑time, office‑based role with frequent site visits in central London.

The role offers a career path in demolition and enabling works projects within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to clients on technically challenging demolition and enabling works projects, identified and develop solutions with leadership team.
  • Technical tasks: produce engineered solutions at tender and project stages, check and approve medium and low‑risk engineered solutions from others.
  • Guide and coach Project Engineers, Junior Engineers and technicians; develop technical skills of junior staff.
  • Ensure health & safety are key considerations: complete designer risk assessment / decision log, maintain CSCS card, manage projects in line with DE Group SHEQ processes and ISO accreditations, contribute to improvement of integrated management systems.
  • Manage project administration: accurate and timely document & record keeping, prepare and approve fee proposals, manage changes to scope, coordinate statutory, contractual and commercial issues.
  • Lead resources across multiple projects, taking responsibility and ownership of work.
  • Consider sustainability and environmental impact in engineered solutions; minimize waste, carbon and resource usage.
  • Communicate clearly with client teams, technical and non‑technical staff; support client relationships and business development.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (BEng, MSc, MEgr or equivalent).
  • Chartered status with Institution of Structural Engineers or Institution of Civil Engineers preferred.
  • Experience in demolition and enabling works, with strong knowledge of design codes and guidance.
  • Strong analytical, technical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage projects, provide coaching, and lead multiple projects.
  • Commitment to health & safety, SHEQ processes and ISO standards.
  • Up‑to‑date CSCS card.
