Overview
SUMITOMO ELECTRIC U.K. POWER CABLES LTD (SEUK) is looking to develop its new EPC and Business Development department in order to strengthen its capability for design, engineering, tendering, managing and delivering large scale cable EPC projects in the UK and Europe.
Responsibilities
- Offshore Construction Manager covering multiple cable EPC projects.
- Supporting the Senior Construction Manager for including, but not limited to, the following matters:
- Leading tendering teams for offshore construction related proposals including communications with subcontractors or consortium (JV) partners.
- Review the client tender documents and develop the strategy to win the tender.
- Requesting quotations and tenders from Transport and Installation companies, and carrying out the analyses and evaluation, ensuring technical compliance, commercial competitiveness and programme alignment.
- Prepare and submit consolidated tenders reflecting precise cost estimations, including cable jointing and qualification testing costs.
- Conduct occasional site visits to the construction sites (including offshore), manufacturing facility and warehouses to support tender and project execution activities.
- Support project phases transitions from tendering to pre-construction and execution as required.
- Support negotiation or business meetings with clients (Transmission Operators, Developers etc.).
- Support contract negotiations or Interface managements with subcontractors, suppliers and consortium (JV) partners.
- Future possibility to be involved as a member of Project Management Organisation for a specific EPC project, and organize the planning/engineering/risk management/site works etc.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years experiences within the management of Transportation and Installation Cable Projects including cable lay and burial.
- High voltage offshore cable project experiences are preferred such as Interconnectors or Export Cables.
- Familiar with offshore (and onshore) construction works.
- A manager that shows strong leadership, SHEQ focus, good communication, ability to work with international teams, focused on schedule and risk management, organization and project management skills, training skills, IT skills, knowledge of ISO standards, etc.
- Ideally with a technical background in cable installation.
- Main office location will be in Glasgow plus business travels as needed. Hybrid working to be discussed during the interview process.
