Technical Buyer, £40K, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire

• The business has doubled their revenue in the last 5 years – £8m to £16m t/o.
• £40K salary as an approx. guide + bonus + pension + 25 days holiday and all bank holidays.

This is an excellent career opportunity for a Technical Buyer or Engineering Buyer or Project Buyer or Purchasing Coordinator to join an established and successful product development and manufacturing business.

Your background as a Technical Buyer:

• Previous experience of working within a purchasing / buying / procurement / supply chain focused role.
• Previous experience of working within an engineering or manufacturing environment this role is focused on engineering project buying.
• Confident communicator be able to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels within a manufacturing business and with suppliers.
• You are likely to hold a relevant qualification in a business, commercial, manufacturing or engineering discipline.
• Some CIPS qualifications or study would be beneficial, but support can be provided to achieve this.

Technical Buyer Responsibilities:

• Take design specifications from the engineering team and translate into a technical supplier RFQ.
• Purchasing of goods, materials, components, and services.
• Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with existing and new suppliers through the application of procurement best practice tools and methods.
• Undertake planned supplier visits to further develop strong supplier relationships suppliers are based in the UK, Europe and potentially in Asia.
• Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to purchasing to further optimise operational efficiency, add value and support business performance.

This Technical Buyer job is commutable from Leicester, Derby, Coalville, Swadlincote, Castle Donington, Long Eaton, Loughborough, Ashby de la Zouch, Hinckley, Tamworth, Syston, and surrounding areas.
