The Vehicle Technician Role As an Automotive Technician / Vehicle Technician, you will work alongside experienced Engineers and Technicians to prepare specialist equipment and facilities for engineering tests.You will play an important hands-on role in ensuring test facilities, equipment and instrumentation are correctly prepared and maintained before, during and after testing. Prepare vehicles for testing. Fit instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition equipment. Support data acquisition activities. Support fabrication activities including cutting, grinding, and drilling. Support equipment checks, and maintenance activities. Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, safety and equipment condition. Following appropriate engineering, safety and quality procedures when working with specialist and high-value equipment and vehicles. Vehicle Technician / Automotive Technician – Candidate Requirements We are looking for a practical and technically capable Automotive Technician / Vehicle Technician / Workshop Technician, OR Test Technician who is comfortable working in a hands-on role preparing vehicles for testing in an automotive engineering environment. A minimum Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent, such as an engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds or BTEC. Previous experience working within a vehicle workshop, automotive engineering environment, test facility, or similar. Good practical engineering skills and a hands-on approach to problem solving. The ability to work safely and methodically with engineering equipment and machinery. Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
