A UK-based engineering and technology organisation is looking to recruit a Senior Systems Engineer to work across complex engineering products and customer-facing programmes. This role offers involvement across the full systems lifecycle, from concept through to delivery and in-service support.
The Role
- As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will work on systems design, integration and test activities across multiple projects.
- The Senior Systems Engineer will collaborate with software, mechanical and electrical teams, while also supporting and mentoring junior engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Systems design, integration and test as a Senior Systems Engineer
- Working across the full product and systems lifecycle
- Producing clear technical documentation, specifications and reports
- Supporting junior engineers through mentoring and technical guidance
- Engaging with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Contributing across multiple projects as requirements change
The Senior Systems Engineer role is based in Enfield and will involve some business travel depending on project needs.
Essential Requirements
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics, or equivalent experience
- Experience in systems engineering, integration and test
- Broad understanding of software, mechanical and electrical disciplines
- Strong communication skills with a high standard of written English
- Willingness to travel for business requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Eligible to apply for UK Security Clearance
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to radar or radio-based systems
- Experience across the full product lifecycle
- Knowledge of external testing and verification standards
- Experience with communications protocols such as TCP/IP, RS232 or CANBus
- Background in defence, maritime or safety-critical environments
