We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer who can support production by identifying and implementing new processes.

Ideally you will have an understanding of CAD / CADCAM and have some exposure to NPI, different manufacturing methods, and tooling / fixtures.

We can look at people either from a CNC precision engineering or sheet metal fabrication background.

This could be a great opportunity for someone looking to transition from the shop floor into a more office-driven role.

The Manufacturing Engineer job will suit

  • An Engineer, Machinist, or Fabricator who has demonstrable experience of identifying and implementing new manufacturing methods.
  • Experience using CAD systems and comfortable working with various engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of techniques used for production within precision engineering / sheet metal fabrication. For example, welding, laser cutting, CNC machining, surface treatment etc.
  • Ideally come from an apprentice trained background or hold a relevant engineering qualification.
  • Comfortable working within a smaller team. Someone who enjoys variety and wearing different hats.

The Manufacturing Engineer job will involve

  • CAD work both 2D & 3D (Auto CAD, Fusion)
  • Resolving technical problems found during manufacture.
  • Selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, bend allowances, and manufacturing methods.
  • Reviewing customer orders, drawings, specifications, and delivery dates. Creating works orders and manufacturing routes within the ERP system.
  • Identifying the correct sequence of operations, such as laser cutting, forming, welding, machining, finishing, and inspection.
  • Calculating or confirming setup and operation times.
  • Issuing job packs containing drawings, route cards and relevant specifications.
  • Coordinating subcontract processes such as heat treatment, plating, or specialist testing.
  • Supporting contract review, new product introduction, and first-off production.
