North Wales, Interim Contract of 6 – 12 months
Are you an experienced Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead, Maintenance Manager or Site Engineering Manager with a strong background in a heavy process manufacturing environment?
This is an opportunity to take a senior engineering leadership position at an established manufacturing site in North Wales, where you will play a key role in improving plant reliability, developing the engineering team and transforming the site's maintenance strategy.
The site is part of a larger corporate manufacturing group and employs around 250 people.
It produces semi-finished products that are supplied into the wider manufacturing network.
The business has a clear investment roadmap and is committed to moving the site forward.
However, this is an established plant with significant legacy equipment, complex processes and a number of critical assets where reliability and availability are essential.
We are therefore looking for a senior, hands-on engineering leader who can hit the ground running and make a tangible impact.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will take overall responsibility for engineering and maintenance activity across the site.
You will lead the Engineering Manager directly, with wider responsibility for the site's engineering, maintenance, reliability and technical teams, including mechanical, electrical and multiskilled technicians.
A major priority will be to help move the site away from a predominantly reactive maintenance culture towards a structured preventative and predictive maintenance strategy, while introducing Lean and Continuous Improvement techniques that genuinely work within a heavy-process manufacturing environment.
This isn't about implementing Lean for the sake of it.
The successful candidate will be someone who understands how to interpret Lean principles and apply them pragmatically to a complex manufacturing environment, engaging the existing team and delivering sustainable improvements.
