NED Non Executive Director required by a manufacturing and trading business in the West Midlands. The NED Non Executive Director will help shape growth tactics, strategic thinking and contribute to corporate governance. This role will suit an established independent NED with a background in production operations and manufacturing in an SME. The ideal background will include having reached Managing Director, Operations Director or Executive Director in a manufacturing SME (£30m-£150m), with experience in supplying to hospitality refurbishment, food retail or electro-mechanical equipment sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Balancing growth-risk with growth-stretch.
  • Guide strategic planning (1yr, 3yr, 5yr, 10yr rolling).
  • Influence tactical thinking around order book diversity.
  • Assess and manage risks, working with the board to develop mitigation strategies that safeguard the business’s future.
  • Review financial reports, budgets, and investment strategies, ensuring financial sustainability and prudent fiscal management.
  • Oversee governance policies, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks while promoting transparency and accountability.

The NED Non Executive Director will join a collaborative Executive Board. The position suits an established NED that is comfortable actively participating in board meetings, contributing to diverse decision-making processes and driving collaborative discussions.
