Manufacturing Director of Operations
£75,000 salary, plus bonus, pension & £9,000 car allowance.
Total package worth over £100,000 when you factor in 8% employer pension contribution, car allowance, and management bonus. 25 days off (+BHols).
The Manufacturing Operations Director will manage and lead Production and Operations in an engineering-led manufacturing business. Responsibilities include improving manufacturing efficiency, developing production managers, enhancing the manufacturing skills matrix, and increasing on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership of the production operations team, developing people across manufacturing, improving the skills matrix of production teams.
- Work as part of a senior leadership team to deliver on collective goals and contribute to the 5-year plan.
- Create and deliver the manufacturing operations strategy, including medium and long-term plans for production equipment, manufacturing facilities, capex spend, factory labor forecasts, and manufacturing skills development.
- Spearhead new thinking to enable the business to respond to changing customer deadlines, utilizing strategies such as Make vs Buy, buffer stock, or modular designs.
The Manufacturing Operations Director will join a production facility with low to medium batch light machining, product assembly, and surface finishing as the main activities. The order book is strong, providing an opportunity to improve manufacturing with modern thinking to enhance production capacity and agility.
