Maintenance Engineer, Dudley
A maintenance engineering opportunity to join one of the UK\’s largest independent steel toll processors, working on heavy industrial machinery.
- £36,500 base salary + excellent overtime earning potential (Sat = 1.5x, Sun = 2x, Weekday OT = 1.2x)
- 33 days holiday, festive shutdowns, matched pension, death in service, and healthcare plan.
- Working hours: 3 Shift Rotation – Some flexibility needed as they are a 24‑hour site. Week 1: 6am‑2pm Mon‑Fri; Week 2: 8pm‑6am Mon‑Thurs; Week 3: 1pm‑9pm Mon‑Thurs; and 10am‑6pm Fri and 1 Saturday in 3 (paid at OT rate).
This Maintenance Engineer job will suit
- An apprentice‑trained or City & Guilds qualified engineer with experience in heavy industry, ideally steel processing, slitting, or decoiling machines.
- A mechanically biased engineer who is comfortable with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding/fabrication, bench fitting, and general assembly skills.
- Someone confident in basic electrical fault finding (formal electrical qualifications are an advantage but not essential).
