Service Engineer / Field Service Engineer, Home Based with UK wide travel.
Rapidly expanding machinery product development and manufacturing business – the company has doubled in size in the last 10 years; customer demand for their products will see them continue to grow.
Salary commensurate with experience (£45K - £55K as a guide) + company vehicle + private health + pension.

Newly created Service Engineer / Field Service Engineer role to support the expansion of a service engineering capability, we are seeking a skilled Service Engineer / Field Service Engineer to join a technical team and represent a strong brand on customer sites throughout the UK and occasionally abroad.
Your background as a Service Engineer / Field Service Engineer:
- Proven hands-on experience in field service, maintenance, installation, or commissioning roles, ideally with industrial machinery or precision equipment.
- Strong mechanical engineering background. Additional experience of electrical engineering, hydraulics, control systems (PLC, sensors, wiring) troubleshooting skills would be advantageous.
- Excellent customer-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid full UK driving licence; willingness to travel (UK & occasionally to Northern Ireland and Ireland).
Service Engineer / Field Service Engineer Responsibilities:
- Carry out installation, servicing, maintenance, diagnostic work and repair of specialist machines (grinding, sharpening, associated control systems, and tooling).
- Perform on-site breakdown/support visits for customers when equipment fails.
- Provide preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing to reduce downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Provide customer training, advice, and guidance on correct operation, safety, and best practices.
- Travel to customer sites (day trips and potentially overnight stays).
