Contract Thermal Systems Engineer, £45.00 – £55.00 per hour, Coventry, Warwickshire, Leicestershire * Work at the forefront of automotive R&D – cutting edge battery electric vehicle and fuel cell vehicle technology development projects. * Initial contract of 9 months, £45.00 – £55.00 per hour commensurate with experience on an inside IR35 PAYE contract basis. * Some opportunity to work from home as appropriate according to project requirements. Are you an Automotive Engineer that wants to work on the very latest, cutting-edge battery electric vehicle and fuel cell vehicle technology projects? Do you have a background in vehicle thermal management systems / automotive thermal engineering e.g., experience of HVAC systems, heat pumps, refrigerant systems, battery thermal management systems, fuel cell systems, powertrain cooling systems? Do you have experience of 1D Simulation? This Contract Thermal Engineer job will suit: * A Thermal Engineer / Thermal Systems Engineer / Automotive Engineer with prior experience of working on automotive / vehicle projects focused on thermal energy management and vehicle energy efficiency e.g., HVAC systems, heat pumps, refrigerant systems, battery thermal management systems, fuel cell systems, powertrain cooling systems. * You must have previous experience of 1D modelling and simulation (GT-Suite would be perfect!). * Strong knowledge and understanding of thermodynamic principals. * You are likely to be degree qualified in an automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar engineering discipline. This Contract Thermal Engineer job will involve: * Leading and supporting the development of a full vehicle thermal management system from concept to prototype vehicle validation. * Use 1D model-based design techniques for the size and validation of the vehicle thermal management system architecture. * Conduct the system level performance development tests of the vehicle thermal management system. * Define the control logic and model it for the full vehicle thermal management system.
