Would suit a proven Fitter or Technician with prior aerospace experience. The role of an Assembly Fitter is critical to the success of the production team, the role is to be multi-skilled and cover a variety of skill sets. It is an opportunity to develop and learn new skills within the finishing department primarily.
Salary: £15.36 to £15.88 per hour. Additional shift premium if applicable to your pattern (standard days is just base rate). Additional overtime available too.
The Assembly Fitter job would suit:
- Relevant NVQ qualifications relevant to mechanical fitting and assembly.
- Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Previous experience within an assembly position for the aerospace sector.
- Practical experience of at least one of the following disciplines: sheet metalwork, machining, fitting and assembly, welding and metal treatments.

The Assembly Fitter job will involve: Bench work Assembly, Tasks to include:
- Riveting
- Drilling, countersinking, filing
- Press fitting – Operating Hydraulic and fly presses
- Broad assembly using a range of fasteners
- Operating a variety of bench top tools
- Operating pneumatic tools
- Applying surface treatments including paints, alocrom etc.
- Semi-skilled sheet metal ability; e.g. defect removal
- Setting products in jigs and fixtures
