EP Group are seeking a Vehicle Technician to be based at our Global Headquarters in Birmingham. This role will service, repair and maintain our growing fleet of FLTs, PPTs and LGVs.
Working closely with our Warehouse, Transport and Production Teams, you will respond to vehicle breakdowns in a timely manner to ensure vehicle downtime is kept to a minimum.
Shifts / Hours:
- Monday to Friday OR Tuesday to Saturday
- 7am - 5pm OR 10am to 8pm
Responsibilities - Vehicle Technician
- Responsible for the repair, maintenance and servicing of our fleet of FLTs and LGVs
- Reactive breakdown coverage across the site
- Develop a proactive maintenance and service plan for our existing fleet of vehicles
- Diagnose any breakdowns and order the required parts for repair
- Develop a network of spare parts suppliers that meet our fleet requirements
- Prepare the fleet to comply with Loler regulations
Experience required - Vehicle Technician
- Proven experience in the repair and maintenance of Forklift Trucks (FLT) / Automotive / Plant machinery / LGV
- Proven experience of managing a fleet of FLTs (mandatory) and LGVs (desirable)
- Strong background in the maintenance and repair of FLTs, ideally Toyota and Mitsubishi
- Experience of maintenance and repair for LGVs would be an advantage, particularly across Volvo and DAF trucks
- Knowledge of the required level of compliance to ensure all vehicles meet Loler inspection requirements
- Working knowledge of Puwer assessment would be a distinct advantage
- Engine diagnostics and some basic electrical skills
- Ability to plan and manage own workload and work independently
- Strong communication skills to work closely with the different areas of the business
- Highly organised
- FLT Licenses would be extremely beneficial
- Class 1 or Class 2 LGV licenses also desirable
