We are recruiting for an experienced European Credit Control Manager to join an established international business on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a senior, hands-on leadership position with responsibility for the European Credit function. You'll manage and develop a diverse Credit Control team while taking ownership of cash collection, credit risk, working capital and credit strategy across multiple European markets.

The Role

  • Leading, managing and developing the European Credit Control team
  • Managing regional cash collection targets and improving working capital
  • Monitoring and driving DSO performance across European markets
  • Overseeing customer accounts and ensuring agreed payment terms are maintained
  • Managing commercial credit decisions for new and existing customers
  • Minimising bad debt exposure while supporting commercial objectives
  • Overseeing orders placed on credit hold and ensuring appropriate release processes are followed
  • Maintaining and enforcing credit policies and procedures
  • Working closely with Sales, Customer Service and Finance teams
  • Supporting accurate and timely invoicing and effective payment processes
  • Ensuring credit processes meet internal audit requirements
  • Supporting Oracle and other credit-related system implementations
  • Representing the Credit function at internal meetings and, where required, customer visits

About You

  • Significant experience within Credit Control/Credit Management
  • Previous experience leading and developing a sizeable Credit Control team
  • Experience managing a credit function across multiple European markets
  • Strong understanding of cash collection, DSO, working capital and credit risk
  • Commercial approach with the ability to balance risk management with business requirements
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders across Finance, Sales and Customer Service
  • Strong Excel and systems skills; Oracle experience would be highly advantageous
  • Excellent communication, influencing and conflict-resolution skills
  • Comfortable working independently and making decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • ICM qualification would be advantageous but isn't essential
