A Typical Day as an Assistant Manager:
- Lead and support the team by acting as second-in-command, delegating tasks, creating a positive working environment, and helping colleagues feel welcomed, supported, and set up for success.
- Coach, develop, and inspire team members through regular guidance, feedback, and mentoring to help individuals grow and perform at their best.
- Drive operational success by supporting rota planning in line with budgets and labour targets while encouraging the team to maximise promotions and enhance the customer experience.
- Recognise and celebrate success by creating an engaging environment where individual and team achievements are acknowledged and rewarded.
- Take ownership of store operations in the Store Manager’s absence, ensuring smooth day-to-day performance and maintaining Starbucks standards across all areas of the business.
- Deliver commercial results by managing stock, overseeing inventory control and reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and minimise waste.
- Maintain exceptional store standards by ensuring merchandising, availability, presentation, and food safety requirements are consistently achieved.
- Champion safety and compliance by ensuring Health & Safety, Food Safety, hygiene, and cash handling procedures are followed to the highest standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous management experience is preferred, but not essential.
- Experience leading or supervising a team within hospitality, retail, or a customer-focused environment.
- A confident and approachable leader who can motivate, coach, and bring out the best in others.
- Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A proactive mindset and confidence to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
