About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a pro‑active and enthusiastic individual to join us as an Assistant Management Accountant at EG Group! You will be part of our experienced Finance Team to provide support for effective accounting and reporting, as well as lead on month end processes. In this role you will have the chance to liaise with key stakeholders within the business by being first point of contact for the Operations teams, Senior Management Teams and the Board. You will also be the first point of contact for cost reporting and variance analysis so being math savvy will be beneficial!

The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker who is able to analyse and interpret large volumes of data, as well as take pride in working to high standards whilst ensuring an outstanding attention to detail. You will also aim to meet deadlines and manage workload appropriately depending on its urgency.

What you’ll be doing

  • Business partnering with key stakeholders
  • Completing variance and trend analysis for company results by site
  • Working with the Management Accountant to lead on month end process and ensure deadlines are achieved to support group reporting requirements
  • Managing of Balance Sheet items
  • Focusing on developing month end and other financial processes post month end
  • Reviewing P&L cost items on a regular basis to develop understanding of cost base and present key trends
  • Effectively prepare monthly lead schedules
  • Liaising in the production of management accounts
  • Liaising with operational teams
  • Supporting the Commercial Finance Team with information and performance analysis to drive decision making for local teams
  • Generating close links with the management teams, perform forecasting and budgeting of businesses
  • Working closely with the operational manager to optimise performance, control cost and drive profitability

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience in a finance background (E.G. Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable)
  • Currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with a commitment to continued development.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data effectively.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commercially aware with a logical and analytical approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proactive and self‑motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems (desirable).
