Euro Foods Group is a leading international manufacturer and distributor of frozen and fresh foods through maintaining international food safety regulations. The Research and Development wing seeks to appoint an innovative candidate for the Postdoc position at Euro Foods Group, UK. This post is open to Global Talents having the ambition to establish a research group focused on innovative food reformulation, food safety & security, and optimising ingredients functionality to develop low-allergenic safe food for the future.

The successful candidate will actively engage in research with the aim of growing their specialist area in food science. They will also undertake high-quality advanced research in the development and management of the Research and Development wing through their in-depth knowledge of food science. The activities will include delivery and development of high-quality modules covering food reformulation and physical properties, including aspects of food chemistry and food processing. We have a highly active, collaborative, and inter-disciplinary research environment.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent and group research as a Lead Post-Doctoral Researcher at Euro Foods Group, UK.
  • Design and implement innovative research methodologies that add to knowledge and understanding appropriate to their discipline.
  • Lead, develop and manage research proposals and implementation as per timeframe.
  • Develop new world-standard value-added products through optimising the ingredients.
  • Develop different processing techniques for the formulation of low-allergenic products.
  • Upgrade the standard of existing products following the international food safety regulations.
  • Research on minimisation of wastage through development of by-products.
  • Make a significant contribution to writing articles for publication in leading academic journals and other relevant outlets, including lead authorship as appropriate.
  • Disseminate research findings and develop an international reputation through participation in national and/or international conferences, exhibitions, workshops, advisory boards, etc.
  • Collaborate with Universities and other institutions relevant to the food sector.
  • Contribute to the accreditation of programs and quality control processes to establish an internal food safety management team.

PERSON’S SPECIFICATION

Skills Required:

  • Previous research experience in the development of low-allergenic food products.
  • Ability to formulate new value-added products.
  • Capabilities to minimise wastes and development of by-products.
  • Ability to undertake high-quality original research.
  • Ability to publish papers in high impact journals.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Existing national or international reputation.

Attainment:

  • PhD in an appropriate specialist area related to food science from a world-renowned university.
  • A strong publication record in food and nutritional sciences appropriate to the career stage of the candidate.
  • Active membership of a relevant professional body.

Knowledge:

  • Food allergens.
  • Food microbiology.
  • Shelf-life of food products.
  • Nutritional profiling of Food.
  • Food ingredient and functionality.
  • Food reformulation.
  • Food fortification and knowledge regarding food regulations of the UK.

Relevant Experience:

  • At least 10 years of working experience in the food industry or research organisation and universities.
  • Completed multiple national and international research projects.

Starting October 2025 or as agreed. The Postdoctoral researcher will be offered a 3-year fully funded contract. The salary of the positions will be based on levels of the demands level table for research personnel in the salary system of UK Government. In addition, the appointee will receive a salary component based on personal performance. The starting salary will be £65000-70000 / year, depending on the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
