AA Euro Group is seeking an Electrical Lead to join a large Tier-1 Contractor working in Central London. Reporting to the Regional Director/Regional Electrical Lead, the Electrical Lead is responsible for delivering electrical systems across designated large and smaller projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the company's safety, quality, and energy objectives. It is equally important for the Electrical Lead to guide, lead, and motivate teams in applying electrical management systems to deliver fully integrated and commissioned electrical systems that meet design and statutory requirements, leading to seamless handovers and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of the MEP technical and commercial parts of project bids, ensuring adherence to the company's pre-construction procedures.
- Provide guidance in the tendering and awarding of MEP packages, aligning with contract and procurement strategies.
- Ensure MEP teams determine temporary electrical requirements, including load and energy assessments, following management system guidelines.
- Take overall responsibility for MEP project delivery by providing leadership, guidance, and motivation to the teams.
- Support planning for key building services resources to manage project delivery.
- Ensure MEP teams manage projects according to Building Services Management Procedures and specific Project Execution Plans (PEP).
- Oversee the finalization of installation and commissioning programs to integrate with the main construction schedule.
- Facilitate early engagement with utility companies to understand and adhere to infrastructural and interface requirements.
- Guide the production of coordination and builders' works drawings for approval and construction.
- Manage the process of equipment and plant tracking from submission to delivery, including mock-ups and quality checks.
- Focus on identifying and mitigating key project risks related to program, contractual, or commercial issues.
- Oversee quality management system (QMS) snagging, inspections, and sign-offs of MEP installations.
- Manage MEP start-up and control of live energies in line with company guidelines.
- Develop site-specific inspection, testing, and commissioning plans, ensuring proper handover procedures.
Experience
- Over 10 years of experience managing large-scale, complex MEP projects.
- Strong understanding of the MEP supply chain market and dynamics.
- Mechanical or Electrical academic qualification or MEP technical background.
- Membership in professional institutions such as CIBSE, CIOB, IEI, or equivalent.
- Project management experience.
- Training in live energies or arc flash safety.
Qualifications
- Higher Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Technical, or Construction-related subjects.
- Professional accreditation with MCIBSE or equivalent.
- BIM Fundamentals certification.
- IOSH or similar health and safety management training.
- Planning and programming skills.
