Objectives
Co-ordinate the work of the service department on a daily basis; ensuring that work is effectively programmed and to ensure customer and departmental needs are met.
Reporting
The service C&D driver will report to the General Manager
Key Responsibilities
- To ensure that the organization of the collection and delivery of customer vehicles is efficiently maintained
- Liaise with and update customers regarding the collection and delivery of their vehicles
- To liaise with service reception team to ensure that customer vehicle requirements are met and communicated effectively
- To provide a timely and courteous collection and delivery service for customer vehicles as required by the workshop
- To present customer vehicles for MOT inspection
- Support the technicians by providing vehicle road testing following repair
- Assist workshop with any vehicle movement within the yard.
- To undertake any driving duties as requested both on and offsite ensuring that the "rules" of the road are adhered to at all times
- To carry out weekly checks on company courtesy vehicles
- Organise and arrange on site vehicles to ensure safe parking and maximize usage of space
- Assist in maintaining the general cleanliness of vehicles when presented to customers
- To ensure that all customer complaints are referred to the relevant staff member
- Assist management by being the Health and Safety representative for the workshop; to include monthly reporting of any safety issues.
Key Performance Measures
- To efficiently and effectively carry out all driving duties as and when required by the workshop
- To organize and arrange all collection and delivery movements in an effective and timely manner
- To provide a prompt service when presenting vehicles for MOT inspection
Key Requirements
- HGV Class 1 licence
- Experience of HGV driving
- Customer service experience is preferred
- Can work on own initiative
- Motor vehicle repair experience advantageous
