As a Finance Business Partner in a large, complex matrix organisation, you will act as a key link between the finance function and multiple business units. You will provide insightful financial analysis, strategic guidance, and commercial support to drive business performance and enable sound decision-making. This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, translating financial data into actionable insights to support long-term planning and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders and functional heads to deliver financial insight, analysis, and forecasting that supports strategic decision-making.
- Work with Vehicle Sourcing, Operations and Sales teams to maximise dismantled vehicles margins, including inventory valuation.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for designated business areas, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and timelines.
- Provide variance analysis and commentary on financial performance, highlighting risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate across multiple departments (e.g. operations, commercial, HR) to influence financial outcomes and drive efficiency initiatives.
- Translate complex financial information into clear and concise reports and presentations for non-finance stakeholders.
- Support investment appraisal, business case development, and post-investment reviews.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of planning, reporting, and performance management processes.
- Ensure financial compliance, controls, and governance are upheld across business activities.
- Act as a liaison between corporate finance and business units to ensure consistency in financial practices and policies.
Skills and Experience
- Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with post-qualification experience.
- Experience in a Finance Business Partner or similar role within a large, matrixed or multinational organisation.
- Strong analytical, modelling, and commercial acumen.
- Ability to influence, challenge, and collaborate with senior stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to simplify complex data and communicate effectively to non-financial audiences.
- Proficient in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion) and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is advantageous.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
