The Technical Product Manager takes responsibility for driving the development, evolution and technical integrity of LKQ’s product range within an assigned segment, such as braking, engine parts, steering and suspension, electric and electronics. Acting as a key point of contact for technical requirements, this role contributes to assortment decisions, supports private label development and provides structured technical insights and comparisons across third-party brands and private label ranges.

Key Responsibilities:
- Driving the development and optimization of the assigned product assortment to meet strategic goals based on three main key performance indicators (KPIs): range coverage, launch time and product data quality.
- Analyzing market dynamics, competitive landscape and requirements, including keeping track of competitor assortments and identifying potential areas for growth.
- Playing a key role in the launch and maintenance of private label references, particularly relating to technical aspects.
- Developing a solid understanding of performance specifications across third-party brands and private label ranges.
- Delivering first-level technical support, diagnosing and resolving customer issues via phone, email, or chat for prompt and efficient resolution.
- Understanding performance specifications for third-party brands and private label range and comparing them using 1Xtool.
- Providing technical product advice, training and guidance for internal stakeholders such as sales and marketing teams.
- Working with the quality department on quality standards.
- Ensuring the continuous improvement of product data.
- Identifying potential errors, inconsistencies and improvement.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in product development and technical data management, gained within the automotive industry and the independent aftermarket (IAM) spare parts business.
- Solid understanding of repair procedures in workshops, including tooling and equipment requirements.
- Competency in the use of IAM data systems such as Olyslager, TecDoc and TecRMI as well as original equipment (OE) repair data systems and/or part catalog systems.
- Skilled in using the Microsoft 365 suite of applications.
