About Us

King’s College London is a leading University with nine Faculties. As part of King’s Health Partners, we have an excellent environment for health care interaction and a strong focus on mentoring and career development. King’s is the largest provider of health care education in Europe.

About the role

King’s College London’s Simulation and Interactive Learning Centre is seeking a Simulation Education Specialist to support the delivery of high-quality, clinically relevant simulation-based education across the Health Faculties. This professional services role acts as a key link between the centre and academic colleagues, helping to translate curricular and clinical requirements into practical, well-designed learning activities that meet recognised standards of simulation practice.

You will play a central role in planning, coordinating, and delivering simulation sessions that are educationally sound, operationally feasible, and provide meaningful learning outcomes for students and staff. The post holder will develop, maintain, and manage centre-specific educational resources, documents, and repositories, including exploring opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and resource tracking.

By capturing the educational demand from faculties, you will help inform service planning, centre resource development, and potential research initiatives, contributing to the continuous enhancement of simulation-based education across King’s Health Faculties. You will provide guidance on best practice in simulation pedagogy, support faculty colleagues in session design, and ensure all activities comply with quality assurance processes and clinical standards.

The successful candidate will have experience in delivering or supporting simulation-based or interactive learning in healthcare or higher education and a strong understanding of clinical practice. You will demonstrate excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills, and be able to make decisions independently while balancing operational constraints and educational objectives. Effective communication and collaboration are essential, as you will work with academic staff, clinical educators, technical teams, and students to ensure smooth delivery and meaningful outcomes.

Attention to detail, flexibility, and a commitment to continuous improvement are key to success in this role. The role offers opportunities to engage in interprofessional or complex clinical simulation, participate in educational evaluation or research, and apply educational technology and automation tools to enhance resource management and delivery. Candidates with experience in these areas will have the opportunity to innovate and help shape the future of simulation-based learning at King’s.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative, interactive healthcare education at one of the UK’s leading universities, influencing the learning experience of students, faculty, and healthcare professionals alike. This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

Location: 5 days on campus (based at Guy’s Campus, with supporting other campuses as per need).

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in supporting or delivering simulation-based or interactive learning, preferably in a healthcare or higher education setting
  • Understanding of clinical practice and the ability to translate it into relevant, clinically meaningful simulation activities
  • Knowledge of simulation pedagogy, recognised standards, and quality assurance processes
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, including the ability to prioritise and coordinate multiple sessions and resources
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to respond flexibly to operational challenges
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, to work effectively with academic, clinical, and professional stakeholders
  • Experience in developing, maintaining, and managing educational resources, documentation, or repositories, including opportunities for automation
  • Collaborative and service-oriented approach, demonstrating flexibility, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Experience in using simulation technology for interprofessional education or complex clinical scenarios
  • Knowledge of research or evaluation in simulation-based education or similar
  • Experience with educational software, learning management systems, or automation tools for resource planning
  • Experience in training or mentoring staff and students in simulation facilitation or educational practice
