Photonic integrated circuits (PICs) are increasingly used in various applications. To allow a smooth design flow for these PICs, optimized compact models are needed. This PhD position is enabling compact models for optical amplifiers and the work focuses on:
- Research on optimizing and simplifying.
- Bilevel programming (BP) as a powerful mathematical framework for modeling hierarchical decision-making processes involving two players: a leader and a follower.
- Tackling real scheduling challenges and exploring how AI transforms operations research and education.
