Photonic integrated circuits (PICs) are increasingly used in various applications. To allow a smooth design flow for these PICs, optimized compact models are needed. This PhD position is enabling compact models for optical amplifiers and the work focuses on research on optimizing and simplifying.

Bilevel programming (BP) is a powerful mathematical framework for modeling hierarchical decision-making processes involving two players: a leader and a follower. In energy network design, for example, the leader aims to build a robust network that mitigates failures caused by the follower’s actions.

Tackle real scheduling challenges and explore how AI transforms operations research and education in a unique joint-track PhD.
