The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Cyprus announces two full-time (140 hours/month) Post-Doctoral positions in Hydrology, funded through a research program on Ecohydrological Modelling and Large-Scale Hydrological Data Analytics. The research program involves close collaboration and exchange visits with members of EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) and Imperial College London (London, UK). The filling of the positions is subject to the availability of funding. Applicants need not be citizens of the Republic of Cyprus. Applicants should, however, ensure before applying that in case they are selected, they will be residing in Cyprus on a full-time basis during the employment period; submission of application implies acceptance of this condition.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Post-Doctoral Researcher is expected to conduct research in ecohydrological modelling (Position 1) or large-scale hydrological data analytics (Position 2). The work will focus on advancing understanding of hydrological and water resource dynamics, with emphasis on the Global South (case studies include Peru, Ecuador, Ghana, and India). He/she is also expected to participate in the dissemination activities of the program via presentations and talks in conferences/workshops and seminars at other Institutions.
QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must have been awarded their Ph.D. before the starting time of their employment through this program. Candidates with backgrounds in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Geography, or other quantitative fields are welcome.
