Analyst, Climate Transition

Eurasia Group is looking for a skilled and motivated Analyst to join its Global Environment & Sustainability Practice, focusing on climate policy. The Analyst will play a key role in advancing Eurasia Group’s coverage of policies and regulations such as the CSRD, CSDDD, the broader EU Green Deal agenda, the IRA, and climate-related duty of vigilance (DoV) laws. The ideal candidate should have a graduate degree and at least three years of experience in relevant research and advisory roles, with demonstrated expertise in analyzing climate-related risks and opportunities across various industries.

We require a candidate who is comfortable with a fast-moving, changing, small-company environment; someone who can deal with ambiguity and a lack of formal structures. We need someone who is low-ego, a team player, and someone who focuses on solving problems. The Analyst may be based in London, Mexico City, or Nairobi; work authorization in the duty location is required, as the hiring process does not include visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assess country and regional political risks related to climate issues.
• Analyze climate policy and politics, providing insights into the political factors that influence policymaking and market-driven dynamics.
• Support Eurasia Group’s climate transition coverage, working closely with other departments.
• Conduct in-depth research and write both succinct, forward-looking analyses and in-depth reports for clients.
• Adhere to tight deadlines and write in a clear, business-oriented fashion.

Qualifications

• Have at least 5 years of experience conducting research on climate policy, with an understanding of its relevance to private sector actors.
• Possess deep knowledge of climate-related regulatory efforts.
• Hold an advanced degree in political science, environmental science, or a related field.
• Have experience in updating policy dashboards and trackers.
• Demonstrate excellent analytical and presentation skills, both oral and written; write clearly and quickly, and efficiently review and edit colleagues' work.
• Have experience drafting country and sectoral reports focused on climate issues.
• Preferably have previous experience in consulting, large financial institutions, or leading organizations working with or for investors.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
