The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Location - Hybrid or on-site (possibly UK based remote) - Bristol, London or Manchester. Salary flexible depending upon seniority. Eunomia work a "nine-day fortnight". Full time employees have a 3-day weekend every other week.

Natural Economy Team: Our Natural Economy team consists of a range of natural scientists, social scientists, economists, and policy experts. We have a wealth of experience in topics including climate resilience, integrated water management, nature-based solutions, nature finance, biodiversity, sustainable land use, food and farming.

Job Description: You will play a key role in growing the Natural Economy team. You will be involved in the technical leadership of projects with a range of activities including cutting-edge project delivery and the development of bids to support a range of clients. Your work will involve desk-based research, technical report writing, developing project proposals, data analysis and modelling, and client presentations. You will work alongside colleagues to deliver projects that meet clients’ needs. You need to be able to work as part of small teams, to have good interpersonal skills, and be an excellent communicator. You will be highly organised and comfortable handling a large and varied workload under pressure whilst simultaneously managing, and developing, a number of key client relationships. You will be experienced in policy research, data analysis and modelling, and in handling large and complex datasets. You will share our commitment and enthusiasm in delivering high quality work, as well as being able to demonstrate a personal commitment to tackling environmental and sustainability issues.

Essential Criteria:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field such as natural or social sciences, ecology, agriculture, land use planning, economics, environmental psychology, climate change adaptation, public policy and/or political sciences.
  • Experience of leading projects in two or more of the following areas: agriculture, water management, flood risk and resilience, land use, and environmental or agricultural economics.
  • A good technical understanding of environmental policy and an aptitude for creative thinking to consider novel policy, financial, or technical instruments to solve real-world problems.
  • Experience of applying a wide range of policy tools and approaches, including qualitative and/or quantitative social research design, delivery and analysis to provide evidence-based recommendations for positive environmental impact.
  • Demonstrable experience of strong verbal and written communication skills including technical report writing.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of practical agricultural experience or working closely with farmers and land-managers.
  • Practical experience of Biodiversity Net Gain.
  • A solid understanding of corporate nature and climate initiatives such as TNFD, SBTi, etc.
  • Experience of statistical analysis and modelling using R, Stata, SPSS or other data analysis software packages.
  • Experience of analysing spatial data sets and working with GIS as an analytical tool.
  • Experience of green finance and natural capital accounting.
  • Strong client relationships complementary to Eunomia’s existing network.
  • Strong track record of income generation and winning client work.
