Job Description:
We are seeking two Field Services Engineers (Fibre) for an 18-month contract. The role requires working from our Canary Wharf office three days a week.
The Role
As a Field Services Engineer within our team you will be working on our consistently growing and developing network in the UK. euNetworks is continually working to maintain our high standards of customer delivery and you will be at the heart of that.
Working as a member of the Fibre UK team, you will be part of the end to end delivery process of the customer solution for Dark Fibre Service Delivery (OSP/ISP fibre planning) and the construction of the network, to the installation of point to point fibre. Our Field Services Engineers are responsible for the planning, maintenance and supervision of all physical fibre.
What will you be doing?
- Working in conjunction with all fibre standards and new technologies
- OSP and ISP planning of fibre route
- Generate work packages for splicing works
- Generate inspection protocols
- Finance Management and control of budgets for splicing and testing of fibres
- Maintaining OSP and ISP records using GIS system
- Communicate with customers via email, phone, web chat etc regarding delivery timeframes or any deviations from the agreed target delivery dates
- Contractor Management
- Analysis of OTDR, ILM, PMD test results
- Risk assessment and management
- Stakeholder Management
- As-Built records and data integrity management
- Administration of Salesforce
- Network Development and Capacity Management
Team structure:
You will be providing guidance and support to external contractors as well as various internal departments.
You will receive guidance and support from the Field Service Lead and team colleagues.

β’ Deep knowledge of fibre standards and testing procedure
β’ Interested in new technologies around optical fibre
β’ Telecommunication education / qualification / experience
β’ Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
β’ General affinity to documentation and documentation systems
β’ Experience on Network Design and Field Service
β’ Understanding of GIS functionality
β’ Ability to coordinate external contractors
β’ Understanding of operation metrics and reporting requirements
β’ Good verbal and written communication skills
β’ Understanding of underlying physical layer (all fibre based)
