About the role (What You’ll Be Doing)
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to be the second design hire on our UK team. This is a rare opportunity to help to shape the direction of the design function in our highest-growth market in a role where you’ll have real ownership and a broad remit. You’ll join our newly established UK Product and Engineering function to design for our UK-focused product squad, working across discovery, experimentation, and iterative product development on our award-winning app and internal tooling. You’ll play a foundational part in creating transformative patient experiences that are simple, evidence-led, and deliver tangible health outcomes for tens of thousands of patients. You’ll also help define how we embed design into our ways of working in the UK – from research and tooling to collaboration and feedback.
This role is perfect for a senior designer who thrives on autonomy, enjoys close collaboration, and is excited about joining a small but fast-moving team.
In this role, you will:
- Craft end-to-end design work for the UK product team – from research to wireframes and final UI, collaborating with the Senior Product Manager and Engineering Manager to design elegant solutions to complex problems.
- Facilitate customer research, including prototype testing, to level up usability and continuously iterate, using patient insights to actively improve our features and champion the patient’s voice.
- Contribute to the product vision for the UK product team. This will involve working closely with the Senior Product Manager to envision the future of the patient experience and contributing to the discovery process through research, competitor analysis and data.
- Champion best design practices and ways of working, evangelising design to the growing UK business and contributing to cross-border design and product team collaboration.
About you (Who you are)
You're a talented Designer with a passion for health and excitement about building our expanding healthcare platform. You enjoy working in dynamic environments, solving complex problems, and creating thoughtful, user-centred design solutions that make a real impact.
Skills & Experience:
- Product Design Experience (4+ years): You have dedicated product design experience in fast-paced, product-led environments. You've owned end-to-end design workflows, created comprehensive design systems, and shipped multiple impactful digital experiences – bonus points if it’s at a B2C company.
- User Research Expertise: You've planned and conducted user interviews, moderated testing sessions, facilitated workshops, and created various fidelity prototypes to test assumptions and refine solutions.
- Evidence-Based Approach: You validate your design decisions using competitive analysis, user research, and product data. You make compelling cases for your design choices based on both qualitative and quantitative insights.
- Outcome-Driven Design: You design with clear business and patient outcomes in mind. You've created solutions that demonstrably improved engagement, conversion, or other key metrics that matter.
- Independent Design Leadership: You confidently drive the design process from discovery to delivery, balancing user needs with business objectives. You know when to seek input and when to make autonomous decisions.
Behaviours & Attitudes
- Patient-first mindset: You put patient outcomes above all else, ensuring every decision balances business growth with clinical excellence and exceptional care. You deeply understand and advocate for user needs. You can translate complex health journeys into intuitive, accessible, and emotionally resonant experiences.
- Design Craft Excellence: You have a sharp eye for detail and take pride in your execution. You balance aesthetic quality with usability principles and maintain consistent standards across all touch points.
- Systems Thinking: You design holistic solutions rather than isolated features. You recognize patterns, create scalable components, and consider how your work fits within the broader product ecosystem.
- Collaborative Creation: You thrive in cross-functional environments, effectively communicating design decisions and incorporating feedback from product, engineering, and clinical teams without compromising your design vision.
Bonus Points
- Experience in consumer technology products with a strong engagement focus.
- Experience designing healthcare or wellness products.
- Portfolio featuring both mobile applications and web platforms.
- Deep interest in digital health, especially in women’s health and preventative care.
