About Eucalyptus

We're on a mission to make good health last a lifetime. More than 1 billion people live with obesity worldwide, driving preventable chronic conditions. We're here to build better long-term care.

Eucalyptus is now part of Hims & Hers, the global leader in personalised health and wellness.

Euc is the company behind Juniper, one of the world's largest weight-management programs combining GLP-1 medication with personalised nutrition, movement support, and clinician-led care from prescribers, nurses, health coaches, pharmacists, and dietitians. Our published clinical research shows that our combined clinical and behavioural approach helps patients lose significantly more weight during their treatment with Juniper by four times.

Our Growth Story:

Supporting patients living with obesity across our 5 markets

Received selective NICE endorsement to provide services to the NHS

Tailored our offering to thousands of patients in Australia, the UK, Germany, Japan and Canada.

About the Role

This role will be based at our London HQ, following a 3-day hybrid schedule. You will bring together two engineering organisations into one unified team, run our largest engineering hub outside of Sydney, and serve as the primary engineering partner for our UK commercial and product leaders. Reporting to the CTO in Sydney, you will work closely with executives in London and operate with the clarity and self-direction that distance requires.

Unify two orgs into one. The team is 35 engineers across two engineering organisations, growing towards 50. You will manage six to eight direct reports (all engineering managers) and establish a unified standard for how both teams plan, build, ship, and hold each other accountable.

Run the London engineering site. Serve as the senior engineering voice in the building, including dotted-line support for US-focused teams based in London. That means setting the tone, facilitating local leadership forums, and making London a place where exceptional engineers join and stay.

Translate commercial outcomes. Partner directly with UK commercial, clinical, and product leaders as a true peer. You will serve as the primary contact across the business, evaluating trade-offs through a commercial lens and communicating them rather than escalating them.

Shape what we build, not just how. Evaluate whether proposed initiatives deliver real value and instil that thoughtful product instinct across your management team.

Build and mentor the team. Own senior hiring in London, set clear quality standards, and mentor engineering managers to become skilled hiring partners who can recruit effectively.

Raise engineering standards. Strengthen delivery predictability, quality, and operational reliability across a distributed organisation spanning Sydney, London, and the US.

About You

You've managed an engineering organisation of 30+ people through managers, with at least five years of experience developing other managers.

You have experience guiding an organisation through significant structural change such as an integration, restructure, or operational overhaul where teams emerged stronger. You can reflect openly on the parts that went badly and what you learned.

You use AI tooling in your own work, and you've changed how a team builds with it rather than just your own workflow. You can say what it made better, what it made worse, and where you chose not to use it.

You've demonstrated commercial fluency, holding constructive conversations on revenue, margin, and prioritisation while making speed, scope, and risk trade-offs clear and explicit.

You have experience building and scaling systems from the ground up, rather than simply maintaining a machine that already runs itself.

You are technically strong and partner credibly with senior engineers, you evaluate system architecture, and spot when technical estimates lack substance. Coding is not the job, but you are comfortable getting on the tools to prototype an idea or unblock your team, and you can govern an ecosystem built on React, React Native, TypeScript, Go microservices, GraphQL, Kubernetes, and GCP.

You are comfortable managing a site distant from headquarters across various time zones. You leverage asynchronous communication, operating with high agency, independence, and clarity.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in regulated sectors (such as healthtech, fintech or gaming), finding creative paths forward inside compliance constraints rather than being stopped by them.
  • Experience navigating post-acquisition organisational integration and the messy alignment work that follows.
