A new vacancy for a Site Support Supervisor with a leading UK provider of specialist services to construction product manufacturers and installers. Based at the company's facility in Hertfordshire, the Site Support Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing stores, logistics and yard management in a fast-paced environment in which a wide range of building materials are delivered, manually handled on site, stored and then despatched. The jobholder will have two direct reports, so supervisory experience would be a definite advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Controlling the receipt, handling, storage, distribution and disposal of goods and samples to the minimum level compatible with ready availability and ease of retrieval as required.
- Maintain records of sample movements to meet the needs of the company management system.
- Organise the shipping and transport of materials and equipment between suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Assist Test Technicians in carrying out their work, especially when there are high levels of manual handling.
- Provide a "lift and shift" service to Technicians and other parts of the Company, as required.
- Supervise reporting staff ensuring that safe and efficient working practices are adhered to, and where required, that appropriate developmental assistance and training is identified.
- Manage efficient removal of all waste generated at the site including recycled paper, samples, chemicals and electronics.
Candidate Profile:
- At least 5 years experience in a site supervision role that has involved responsibility for stores, logistics and yard management (ideally related to building/construction materials).
- Good understanding of stores and goods in/out procedures.
- Competent in the issuing of materials for processing and completion of the associated documentation.
- Able to deal with clients at all levels in the expedition of obtaining materials.
- Good communication, willingness to try out new approaches/methodologies to streamline workflow.
- Works well with little or no supervision but can readily be a team member when required.
- Computer literate, Word, Excel etc.
- Up-to-date Forklift licence.
Salary and benefits include:
- Starting salary Β£30-32,000 per annum
