Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking for a new challenge with a leading specialist machine builder? We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a renowned manufacturer supplying bespoke automated manufacturing equipment to customers worldwide.
Ideally you will be based in Somerset.
The Role:
- As a Field Service Engineer, you'll play a key role in the build, test, commissioning, installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of advanced machinery at client sites across the globe.
- You will also provide hands-on training to customers, ensuring they get the best from their equipment.
- The role involves working with a range of associated systems, including PLCs, motors, drives, and HMIs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning and installing specialist machinery at customer locations (UK & worldwide)
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues, both remotely and on-site
- Providing customer training and support on equipment operation and maintenance
- Working with PLC control systems, motors, drives, and HMIs
About You:
- Fully time-served Electrical Engineer (apprenticeship or equivalent)
- HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to work independently and confidently in customer-facing environments
- Willing and able to travel internationally, sometimes at short notice (up to 50% of the time)
- Holds a valid passport and driving licence.
- Experience with PLCs advantageous
- Demonstrated problem-solving and debugging skills
- Previous commissioning / field service experience highly desirable
