Analyse system requirements and develop control system models that align with project specifications and functional needs. Design, simulate, and optimise control systems using MATLAB/Simulink to ensure proper functionality and performance. Specify and integrate the necessary hardware and software components for control systems.
Testing & Troubleshooting: Test and analyse control systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational requirements. Develop test procedures and ensure systems function correctly under various operating conditions. Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions, resolving issues efficiently to maintain system reliability.
Proactive Problem-Solving: Engage in problem-solving initiatives to identify and mitigate potential system failures before they occur. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems with other subsystems.
QUALIFICATION / SKILLS
Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Practical experience in control system design, modelling, and analysis using Matlab/Simulink. Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting control systems to ensure functionality and safety. Ability to work on complex technical projects, with strong problem-solving skills.
Skills: Solid understanding of control system design principles and fundamentals. Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink simulation tools for system design and validation. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues and implement solutions effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microprocessor/DSP Hardware Implementation: Experience integrating microprocessor or DSP hardware in real-time control systems.
- Embedded Control Software: Familiarity with real-time embedded software for control applications.
- HMI / Visualization Tools: Experience developing interfaces for monitoring, configuration, or diagnostics of control systems.
- Serial Communication Protocols: Working knowledge of serial communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C or CAN.
- System Modeling and Coordination Studies: Experience developing dynamic system models and performing coordination studies to assess control interactions, performance and stability.
- System Testing and Validation: Experience developing and executing test plans to validate control performance and robustness.
