Shift Pattern: Days, Mon-Fri, 8am - 5pm

The Company: My Client is one of the UK’s leading processing & recycling companies, specialising within paper and cardboard, in order to supply their clients with processed materials for remanufacturing. The company is a well-established producer to the global markets, having over 50 years of experience. The Leicester site is looking once again to expand due to further investment, within this secure group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary point of contact for all Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality issues for employees, Management Team members, Directors and external stakeholders.
  • Continuously monitor operational activities to ensure the business is operating in line with specific Environmental permit conditions and making recommendations for improvements as required.
  • Conduct investigations, record, report and analyse all accidents and near miss incidents.
  • Attend and contribute to Daily Operations Meetings with fellow Management Team members.
  • Undertake periodical site inspections and distribute a written report to company Managers.
  • Management of the ISO drives to ensure all Management System documentation is accurate and accessible.
  • Undertaking extensive internal and external audit preparation (to include the review, revision and creation of ISO Management System documentation) and attendance at audits.
  • Oversee the maintenance of other company certifications/accreditations (for example Safe Contractor/CHAS).
  • Co-ordination of Health, Safety and Environmental Committee Meetings (HSEQ) and oversee the arising actions.
  • Preparation and dispatching of reports or information relating to Health, Safety and Environmental operations.
  • Coordination of relevant HSEQ training courses/employee personal development opportunities.
  • Formulate and deliver internal training courses (Health, Safety and Environmental).
  • Maintenance, audit and review of Departmental Training Matrices.
  • Completion of relevant supplier tenders/assessment questionnaires.
  • Liaison and communication with external enforcement agencies and regulators as required.
  • Assist with company compliance policies in relation to drug and alcohol testing and stop and searches.
  • Professional development of first line reports.
  • Undertaking any other duties as required.
