The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of day‑to‑day tool‑room machining and turning activities, ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards within a heavy machinery environment. They should come from a tool‑room machining background and be able to work on their own initiative, working as a time‑served engineer with a mechanical/tool‑room bias.
Requirements include:
- Minimum of a full apprenticeship in a production environment
- Time‑served status
- Creation of CAD drawings for roll design, overlays for roll & shape wire evaluation requirements
- Knowledge of operating & programming Mazak CNC lathes
- Monitoring & control of raw material stock
- Roll inspection and accuracy & finish checks
In addition, the candidate will be involved in general mechanical work and will be offered extensive training to broaden their skills.
