We are partnering with a well-established financial services organisation undergoing a number of strategic transformation and business improvement initiatives. As part of continued growth and investment in change delivery, we are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support a range of projects across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a project professional looking to further develop their experience within a regulated environment, working closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to high-profile transformation programmes.

The Role

Working alongside senior project leadership, you will support the delivery of change initiatives from inception through to implementation. You will help coordinate project activities, monitor progress, manage documentation, and ensure projects remain on track against agreed timelines and objectives.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of transformation, process improvement, and operational change initiatives across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination and delivery of business and transformation projects.
  • Maintain project plans, status reports, RAID logs, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Assist with stakeholder management and project governance activities.
  • Produce management information and reporting for senior stakeholders.
  • Support process mapping and business improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, and project working groups.
  • Track project actions and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Assist with change control and project governance processes.
  • Work with internal teams to improve operational efficiency and project outcomes.
  • Contribute to both Agile and Waterfall project delivery environments.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a Project Coordinator, Project Analyst, PMO, Assistant Project Manager or Junior Project Manager position.
  • Experience supporting business change, transformation, or operational improvement projects.
  • Background within Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, Wealth Management, FinTech, or another regulated environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience producing project documentation, reporting, and management information.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.

Desirable

  • PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum or similar project management certification.
  • Experience with process mapping, BPMN, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Exposure to digital transformation, automation, or process improvement initiatives.
