An opportunity has arisen for a Market Risk Analyst to join a collaborative and fast-paced risk function within a global trading environment. The team is responsible for assessing, monitoring, and controlling market risk exposure across a range of trading activities, working closely with front office and senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain daily risk reports, including position and sensitivity analysis, exposure breakdowns, and risk limit utilisation
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of market and risk data (e.g. pricing, volatility surfaces, yield curves)
  • Deliver timely and accurate risk metrics to trading desks and senior stakeholders
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, escalating issues where appropriate
  • Monitor risk limits and support escalation processes in line with internal governance
  • Partner with trading teams to understand positions, strategies, and key risk drivers

Risk Measurement & Analytics

  • Calculate and analyse Value-at-Risk (VaR) across portfolios
  • Support the development and execution of stress testing frameworks, including historical and scenario-based analysis
  • Build and interpret risk matrices and scenario analyses (e.g. spot vs volatility, instrument shocks)

Automation & Infrastructure

  • Contribute to the enhancement of automated risk reporting tools and processes
  • Utilise Python and/or SQL to improve data workflows and reporting efficiency
  • Support integration with business intelligence tools and reporting platforms

Requirements

  • Up to 2 years’ experience in market risk or a related analytical role
  • This role would suit candidates at an early stage in their career looking to develop within a supportive environment

Technical Skills

  • Understanding of market risk concepts such as VaR, derivatives, and stress testing
  • Interest in financial markets and macroeconomic drivers
  • Exposure to coding (e.g. Python, SQL) and data analysis
