We are collaborating with a leading financial services firm to find a proactive Change and Transformation Risk Manager. This is a critical role within the Change & Transformation Risk team, focusing on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and large-scale operational transformations. The successful candidate will be essential in ensuring effective risk management and supporting the delivery of internal change and transformation programs, including the integration of acquired entities and businesses. They will also be responsible for managing risks and supporting the implementation of new/updated target operating models and processes across various front office, control and support areas. The role involves working closely with these business areas to maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure effective processes for the activities being pursued, while also suggesting improvements as needed. This position requires a solid understanding of financial markets, risk management principles, and change management methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- M&A Due Diligence & Integration: Conduct thorough risk assessments during M&A due diligence, identifying potential operational, regulatory, and financial risks. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for integration activities, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption.
- Target Operating Model (TOM) & Standard Operating Procedures/Processes (SOPs) Design & Challenge: Participate in the design and challenge of target operating models, ensuring risk considerations are embedded. Assess the impact of proposed TOM changes on operational risk, compliance, and control environments. Identify and evaluate potential process inefficiencies and propose improvements. Ensure that TOMs are fit for purpose and meet all regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement & Business Requirements Analysis: Conduct detailed business requirements analysis to support process improvement initiatives. Identify and assess risks associated with process changes, proposing mitigation strategies. Work with business stakeholders to fully understand current and future state processes.
- Change Integration: Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure a structured approach to integrating new businesses.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with front-office teams, risk functions, and senior leadership to drive informed decision-making.
- Hands-On Business Analysis: Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth operational risk assessment and integration.
