We’re hiring a Head of External Reporting & Technical Accounting for a FTSE 250‑listed, high‑growth technology solutions provider. This is a senior role at the heart of the Group Financial Reporting function, combining leadership of group consolidation and statutory reporting with acting as a key technical accounting adviser to the business. You’ll lead a small specialist team and work closely with senior stakeholders as the organisation continues to grow in scale and complexity.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a small Group Reporting team responsible for monthly consolidated reporting, half‑year and year‑end close
- Own the preparation and delivery of the statutory accounts and Annual Report & Accounts
- Act as the Group’s technical accounting lead, advising on IFRS, consolidation, FX and judgement‑heavy accounting areas
- Prepare high‑quality Board and Audit Committee papers, clearly articulating key judgements and policy decisions
- Manage relationships with external auditors and technical advisers
- Enhance consolidation and reporting processes, strengthening controls, balance sheet and cash‑flow governance
- Support wider finance transformation initiatives, including systems development, multinational activity and M&A
- Work closely with Tax, Treasury, Commercial Finance and other group teams to ensure alignment across the business
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong post‑qualification experience
- Ideally some experience in a group or consolidation‑focused role within a large or complex organisation
- Strong technical accounting and IFRS knowledge
- Experience producing Board‑level or Audit Committee documentation
- Proven ability to lead, develop and influence teams and stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in a listed, fast‑paced environment, particularly around reporting deadlines
- NetSuite experience is beneficial but not essential
The role is ideally based three days per week near Maidenhead, with flexibility to split time with a London office.
