Our client, a privately owned international company specializing in design and manufacturing, is seeking an Interim Head of Indirect Tax to join their team for a 6-month hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the company’s supply chain processes, identifying key touchpoints for VAT risks and opportunities.
- Work on VAT compliance projects, where necessary, to mitigate risk and ensure proper VAT treatment for complex or cross-jurisdictional transactions.
- Document how transactions are treated for VAT for a process map for the business to utilise and for ongoing reference and audit purposes.
- Collaborate closely with the Transfer Pricing team to address intercompany transactions and ensure alignment between customs, VAT, and transfer pricing processes.
- Work with Local Financial Controllers in relevant business units to gather necessary information and ensure accurate and timely VAT compliance.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a VAT guidance document to ensure consistent VAT treatment on transactions.
Candidate Profile:
- Professional tax qualification (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Proven track record in handling complex, cross-border indirect tax issues and the ability to navigate tax laws in multiple jurisdictions.
- Ability to drive indirect tax strategy while leading projects and overseeing teams.
- Expertise in supply chain VAT optimisation.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex tax matters clearly to non-tax stakeholders.
