We are supporting a PE-backed business, c. £100m turnover, who are looking for an immediately available interim Energy/Metering Senior Finance Analyst to support them for a 3 month period. This is a commercial, hands-on role focused on ensuring accuracy and control around energy usage, cost allocation, and customer billing. With hundreds of meters across multiple UK sites and 50+ customers, the client needs someone who’s analytically strong, confident with Excel, and able to liaise clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and validate monthly meter readings and cost estimates across multiple sites
- Build accurate billing calculations based on usage, tariffs, and other cost components (e.g. carbon emissions)
- Identify inconsistencies in energy invoices and liaise with suppliers to resolve discrepancies
- Oversee the two-person metering team, ensuring site visits and reads are completed and reliable
- Partner with Finance to support invoice generation and resolve customer billing queries
Candidate Profile:
- Strong commercial finance background with excellent analytical skills
- Confident using Excel to work with and validate complex data sets
- Experience managing or reviewing the work of junior team members
- Strong communication skills – able to explain cost data clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive, detail-focused, and comfortable challenging inconsistencies or errors
