We are building our associate talent pool to support a growing pipeline of UK bids across the education and government services sectors. We are keen to connect with Business Analyst Associates who enjoy working with complex programmes, translating requirements into clear, actionable insights, and supporting the design of high-quality, evidence-based solutions. The Business Analyst at Etio plays a critical role in understanding, defining, and delivering digital and operational solutions that drive measurable business value across a variety of projects. Acting as the bridge between strategic intent and technical execution, they work with stakeholders across the organisation to translate complex business needs into clear, prioritised, and outcome-focused deliverables. They ensure that business processes, system design, and data structures align to deliver accurate, scalable, and insight-driven outcomes. This is a hands-on role requiring strong stakeholder management, confident decision-making, commercial awareness, and the ability to operate autonomously. The Business Analyst will provide structure and clarity for delivery teams, ensuring that solutions are aligned with Etio’s objectives and deliver tangible impact across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery activities including stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process discussions.
  • Translate business objectives into clearly defined requirements and solution options.
  • Produce high-quality documentation including: Epics, user stories & acceptance criteria for development work (ensuring user stories are clear, testable, and outcome-focused).
  • Build sheets for configuration work.
  • ‘to-be’ process models and functional specifications.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively and ensure solutions are aligned with business goals and user needs.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and constraints early in the lifecycle.

Delivery & Collaboration

  • Work closely with technical leads, developers, and solution team to ensure shared understanding of requirements.
  • Collaborate within cross-functional delivery teams to support effective and timely solution development.
  • Own and prioritise the work based on business value, risk, and strategic alignment.
  • Make day-to-day scope and priority decisions to maximise delivery value.
  • Contribute to iterative delivery by ensuring clarity of scope and continuous feedback loops.
  • Accept or reject completed work based on agreed acceptance criteria.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders, operational teams, and external partners.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing insight, challenge, and structured thinking.
  • Facilitate workshops and decision-making forums.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear business language and vice versa.
  • Manage competing priorities and negotiate effectively to achieve consensus.
  • Create and document data flows to support solution design and integration clarity.
  • Develop simple conceptual and logical data models to support system understanding.
  • Work with technical teams to ensure data structures align with business requirements.
  • Support the definition of reporting requirements and success metrics.
  • Ensure data quality, governance considerations, and information flows are clearly understood in solution design.

  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Extensive experience in Business Analysis within digital or technology environments.
  • Proven track record of leading requirements discovery and delivery within agile teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
  • Experience facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders.
  • Confident decision-maker with strong prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capability.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment.
  • Strong analytical capability with confidence interpreting and working with data.
  • Ability to create data flow diagrams and simple conceptual/logical data models.
  • Comfortable working with reporting requirements and performance metrics.
  • BCS Business Analysis certification, Agile certification (e.g. Scrum Product Owner), or equivalent.
  • Experience in education, professional services, or consultancy environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 ecosystem and collaboration tools.
  • Experience working on the mobilisation of a new project, within scaling or transformation programmes.
  • Familiarity with data governance or information architecture principles.
