The Role: Solution Implementation Manager
This is a delivery focused role for someone who can create, shape and lead – not just manage. You\’ll coordinate internal tech teams and external partners to deliver complex solutions, balancing stakeholder needs, technical risk, live service readiness and fit-for-purpose delivery. You’ll bring structure, clarity, and momentum to complex solution rollouts and ongoing operational needs.
You will:
- Shapes and delivers scalable, fit-for-purpose solutions by aligning off-the-shelf capabilities with delivery needs – working alongside the Head of Solution Management to turn strategic intent into executable implementation.
- Leads the commissioning of external suppliers and contractors – defining scope, selecting the right partners, and ensuring delivery is aligned, accountable, and adds value.
- Ensures solution delivery meets real business needs – embedding usability, readiness, and long-term value rather than focusing solely on go-live.
- Brings clarity and constructive challenge to stakeholder requests – helping teams focus on what’s truly needed versus what’s asked for.
- Manages vendor risk, scope creep, and partner delivery performance – holding external contributors to account for quality and timelines.
- Balances and prioritises competing demands across multiple delivery streams – ensuring structure, momentum, and focus even when plans shift.
- Coordinates cross-functional and cross-organisational teams to bring complex implementations to life – removing blockers, aligning efforts, and enabling smooth adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end planning and deployment of new technology platforms, digital services, and product features – ensuring solutions are delivered on time, fit-for-purpose, and aligned with organisational goals.
- Own the commissioning process for external vendors and contractors – defining scope, selecting suppliers, and managing engagement to ensure their contributions are timely, aligned, and value-driven.
- Coordinate and align internal technical teams and external partners – ensuring delivery roles are clearly defined, capacity is balanced, and contributors are working toward shared outcomes.
- Manage implementation risk, interdependencies, and change control – maintaining visibility and governance across multiple workstreams.
- Ensure quality of delivery and readiness for live operation – aligning solution outcomes with business requirements and operational success measures.
- Balance and prioritise competing implementation activities – maintaining delivery momentum while adapting plans to evolving programme and stakeholder needs.
- Oversee smooth transition to business-as-usual – coordinating go-live readiness, early life support, handover artefacts, and documentation.
- Engage stakeholders proactively – providing clear, timely updates on progress, risks, and change impacts, and managing expectations across business areas.
What You Bring:
- A proactive mindset- you\’re someone who can create and shape solutions, not just run existing processes.
- Confidence and clarity when engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including those with complex technical, operational, and strategic needs.
- The ability to challenge constructively, ensuring that what\’s being asked for is truly what\’s needed – and that solutions are scalable and aligned.
- Strong capability in managing external partners and suppliers, with a sharp eye on risk, scope creep, turnaround times, and delivery accountability.
- A focus on delivery outcomes, not just activities – you bring momentum, structure, and clarity to every stage of implementation.
Qualifications (We\’re interested in anyone who meets all of the following):
Essential
- Degree or equivalent experience in project management, systems delivery, or business technology roles.
Desirable
- PRINCE2, AgilePM, or similar project/change management certifications.
- ITIL Foundation or other service transition qualifications.
