Full-time Division: Operations & Guest Experience

At Etihad, we’re shaping the next decade of aviation. As part of our Journey 2030 strategy, we’re set to double our fleet, expand our network to over 125 destinations, and triple our passenger numbers.

Acts as a subject matter expert in line maintenance engineering, resolving technical defects, validating work within authorization limits, and coordinating aircraft release activity so scheduled operations remain safe, compliant, and reliable. The role strengthens turnaround performance by applying approved maintenance data, maintaining accurate technical records, and improving the readiness of engineering information, tooling, and facilities across the line maintenance environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate assigned line maintenance work during the shift, prioritise defects and scheduled inputs, and align certified resources, tooling, and technical data so aircraft are returned to service safely, on time, and in accordance with approved maintenance data and release requirements.
  • Review effectivity, revision status, and task instructions before work starts, then verify completed work within authorization limits, certify where permitted, and confirm logbooks, worksheets, and release records are complete, accurate, and submitted on time for traceable aircraft handover to the relevant technical record system.
  • Analyse recurring defects, technical trends, and maintenance history to identify root causes, recommend corrective action, and elevate issues that require engineering, planning, or maintenance control intervention to protect aircraft availability and reduce repeat findings.
  • Maintain compliance with safety management, human factors, EWIS, fuel tank safety, and company procedures by applying risk controls, reporting hazards promptly, and reinforcing disciplined maintenance practices across the work area during troubleshooting and rectification activity.
  • Organise the readiness of technical facilities, aircraft engineering library material, tooling, and ground support equipment so the team works from current information in an orderly, traceable environment that can withstand audit and operational review.
  • Provide technical guidance on task familiarisation, practical standards, and quality expectations, and assess capability gaps or training needs that strengthen shift performance, repeat defect prevention, and overall maintenance reliability within the line maintenance team.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline, or an equivalent tertiary technical qualification that supports chartered engineer membership eligibility.

Experience:

  • 8+ years in line or base maintenance, including defect troubleshooting, certification support, and approved maintenance data application.
  • Experience coordinating technical work or providing subject matter guidance in an operational line maintenance environment.
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken; Arabic is an advantage.

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Tertiary Qualifications that meet the eligibility requirements for membership as a chartered engineer.
  • Safety Training (Human Factor).
  • Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIs) Certificate.
  • Fuel Tank Safety Certificate (FTS).
