Electronic Temperature Instruments Ltd, is a British family-run, award-winning digital thermometer manufacturer, producing digital and infrared thermometers for food service and industry together with dataloggers, moisture meters, humidity, and pH meters.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and talented individual to support our R+D Department (mechanical and electronic sections) with prototype machining and hand fitting of parts to develop ideas and products.
As our R+D Production Support Engineer, you will:
- Support the Production Managers on a day-to-day basis regarding any production issues resulting in timely and cost-effective solutions to maintain product quality and production levels.
- Firefight production issues within Instrumentation and Sensors.
- Create and modify parts for instruments eg probe overmoulds following mould change, tyre temperature probe holders from standard part, etc.
- Create jigs and fixtures, hand tools, gauges and equipment for production to aid efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the production areas with tooling, setting jigs on pillar drills, fixtures, etc.
- Work with QA to ensure products conform to standards/regulations and liaise with them in relation to any moulding issues and manufacturing problems.
The Person
The ideal candidate must have extensive proven experience of working in an engineering environment, using machines and equipment such as Milling Machines, Lathes, Pilla Drills and Grinders.
We\’re looking for someone who has good practical knowledge and skills in plastic injection moulding processes and vast experience of tool making, moulding, and metal pressing. In addition to this, the successful candidate must be a strong communicator, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, along with effective time management skills.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background to play a crucial role in the manufacturing and development of our products and to make a meaningful impact in helping the company achieve its growth objectives.
This role is being advertised as a full-time position but we will consider part-time hours for the ideal candidate. If applying for part-time hours, please make it clear what hours you would like to work.
