Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working early and late shifts on a weekly rotating basis (subject to operational needs).

What you will do:

As a Production Operator, you will work as part of a team producing high-quality pharmaceutical products focused on the treatment of pain, addiction, and critical care. You will ensure all production activities are carried out in line with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Accurate documentation: Complete batch manufacturing records accurately, neatly, and with integrity to ensure compliance at all times.
  • GMP compliance: Follow detailed GMP working instructions and guidelines to produce high-quality products.
  • Collaboration with Engineering: Work closely with the Engineering team to support the resolution of machine breakdowns.
  • Teamwork: Work effectively with colleagues to complete batch-to-batch tasks efficiently and minimise downtime.
  • Quality control: Carry out quality checks at various stages of the process to maintain product and patient safety.
  • Labelling and packing (ampoules and pre-filled syringes): Inspect ampoules and syringes using either advanced camera systems or manual inspection (depending on product type). Ensure correct labels are loaded into labelling equipment and applied accurately to maintain product security. Prepare products for distribution using manual or equipment-based packing processes.

This role is critical to ensuring products meet required quality standards and are delivered safely to end users.

Working environment:

You will be required to wear cleanroom garments, including a one-piece suit and PPE (including powered respirators). Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods and undertake manual handling. You must demonstrate good hygiene practices and apply training to minimise contamination risk.

About you:

You will ideally have knowledge of cGMP and experience in pharmaceuticals or a similar regulated environment (full training will be provided). You will be process-driven, detail-focused, and an effective communicator.

Basic qualifications and skills:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) including Maths and English
  • Basic PC literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong numerical skills and ability to read/understand numerical data
  • Experience working in a structured, process-driven environment
  • Experience operating machinery
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work under pressure
  • Clear communicator and motivator
  • Able to perform manual handling in line with HSE guidelines
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Experience using SAP
  • Good understanding of cGMP in a manufacturing environment

Methodical, self-motivated, approachable, and flexible. You will demonstrate diligence, a positive attitude, and strong teamwork. A willingness to learn and a technically minded approach are highly valued.
